Curtis James Jackson III (Born July 6, 1975), better known by his stage name 50 Cents, is an American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur. Known for his influence in the hip hop industry, he has been described as A Master of Song Writing. Born in the southern Jamaican neighbourhood of Queens, Jackson started selling drugs at the age of 12 during the crack epidemic of the 1980’s. He later began a musical career, producing Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records in 2000, but was shot a few days before the planned release, and the album was never released.
